<p>The issue of children being left in hot cars is a tragic reality, with over 900 fatalities reported in the U.S. since 1990, according to kidsandcars.org. This averages to approximately 38 deaths each year. Various studies have delved into this heart-wrenching phenomenon, which inflicts lasting emotional scars on families affected by such devastating events. In our fast-paced society, distractions and unforeseen stresses contribute significantly to the increasing risk for parents, particularly those adjusting to the demands of newborns. The concept of "prospective memory," which involves remembering to perform tasks outside one's usual routine, plays a crucial role in these unfortunate incidents.

To address this pressing concern, the SAFE SEAT app has emerged as a practical solution designed to help prevent the unintentional leaving of children or pets in vehicles. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has long emphasized the importance of the phrase "Park. Look. Lock." The SAFE SEAT app acts as an audio and visual reminder, prompting users to check their backseat before exiting the vehicle.

While several reminder systems are available on the market, many rely on external hardware, which can be unaffordable for a large segment of the population. The SAFE SEAT app utilizes Bluetooth GPS technology, allowing it to provide notifications and alerts directly through your mobile device after parking. Users can customize interval alarms ranging from 1 to 5 minutes for added peace of mind.

Developed by Sadie Quinn, an aspiring children’s book author and mother of a toddler, SAFE SEAT was born from her personal experiences as a first-time mother. Quinn expressed her concerns after encountering numerous articles about children left in cars and recognized the lack of existing solutions: “I created Safe Seat to fill that need and bring peace of mind to those that use it.”

Available now on iOS with a 60-day free trial period, SAFE SEAT aims to ensure that parents take every precaution in safeguarding their precious passengers.</p>
